Sizing Guide

It is important to get the correct size for the swaddle to work effectively and for safety of your little one. Use the sizing info below to work out the correct size for your baby. How many swaddles do I need?
We recommend purchasing at least two FX swaddles per size. Consider getting an extra spare for added convenience, as babies can be messy with leaking nappies and spitting up milk.
One to wash, one to wear, and one to spare!
Dressing Guide
Standard Weight FX swaddle is made from a single layer of 0.5 Tog (approx) breathable organic cotton fabric to reduce the risk of overheating. It is suitable for all year round use. Dress baby underneath the swaddle as appropriate for the nursery temperature:
- In cooler temperatures, dress baby in warmer layers underneath the swaddle as appropriate.
- In warmer temperatures, dress baby in lighter layers underneath the swaddle as appropriate.
- During summer, it may be sufficient to dress baby in just the swaddle and nappy.
Please note, all babies are all different; additionally, other factors such as humidity in your region, whether there is heating in the house, and your baby's health (whether your baby has a cold or infection or another special need) can determine how you should dress your baby.
Dress your baby to be comfortable, neither too hot nor too cold. Feel your baby's chest regularly to check his/her temperature. Don’t worry if baby’s hands, face, and feet feel cool - this is normal. If your baby is sweating or has a red face, remove some clothing and. This may be necessary if your baby is unwell, in which case you should seek medical attention.

Safe Swaddling Tips
- Always sleep baby on the back, not on the tummy or side.
- Do not use swaddle if head can pass through the neck-hole or if neck-hole is too tight.
- If your baby is attempting to roll from back to tummy during sleep, discontinue swaddling (you can use our 365 Sleep Bag V3, or the X-TEND Sleepsuit instead), or swaddle only with baby’s hands completely free/out. Babies should be able to move their arms freely to push their face off the bedding surface if they happen to accidentally roll from back to tummy. As a general guide only: babies can roll from tummy to back during playtime first, then followed by being able to roll from back to tummy during playtime, and soon followed by being able to roll from back to tummy during sleep.
- Always follow safe sleep recommendations from Red Nose Australia.
